Survivors of Suicide (SOS) is a community-based, clinician-facilitated, psychoeducational support group. The service is open to adults and mature teens who seek a support group to deal with the many issues experienced after the death of a parent, child, sibling, close friend or other loved one by suicide. Services are provided without regard to race, color, gender, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or veteran’s status.
The group is ongoing, and individuals may enter and exit the group as they choose. At times, the group facilitator may recommend a group member seek additional individual treatment and all group members are encouraged to be in individual treatment in conjunction with their group involvement. The group meets on the first floor and the meeting room is wheelchair accessible.
There is no fee charged. The group meets on the first and third Mondays of each month from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the office at 411 Walnut Street.
